This resource is an irregular word pre-assessment for teachers to use to determine which irregular words to focus on for the first two parts of the LIFT Decoding lessons. The resource provides teacher directions on how to administer the assessment as well.

This crosswalk supports teachers in placing students into a LIFT pathway (decoding, fluency-accuracy, or fluency-automaticity) based on their performance on the ROAR (Rapid Online Assessment of Reading) from Stanford.

While LIFT doesn't have its own summative assessment, it facilitates ongoing formative assessment through the use of artifacts of student learning (LIFT decoding and fluency workbooks), objective teacher observations, and progress monitoring. If there is a universal screener in place (e.g. NWEA MAP), we recommend going through this process.

This crosswalk aims to provide guidance for placing students into the appropriate Storyshares LIFT (Literacy Intervention for Teens) pathways based on their performance on the UFLI Foundations Intervention Placement Test.
